They include manufacturers from China like GEELY, BYD, AVATR, HONGQI, DSFK, CATL and more. This mirrors the rising demand for electric cars and new sales markets offering attractive new business opportunities for industry, workshops and dealers.
Electromobility means more than just a new drive system. A market for software and electronic components has developed in parallel to the development of electromobility for autonomous, connected, electric and shared (ACES) vehicles. This market, which has recorded annual growth of 15 percent since 2020 and is expected to reach a volume of USD 469 billion by 2030, offers products for all vehicle categories. Software companies and manufacturers of electronic components are already well-represented at Automechanika Frankfurt: this innovative area alone accounts for over 500 exhibitors who will be presenting their products and solutions from the Electrics & Electronics and Connectivity & Autonomous Driving product groups. In all, almost 700 of the companies who have already registered state that they have electric vehicle competence.
