Traditional purchasing channels are increasingly being replaced by e-commerce and digital platforms. Transparent online offerings are gaining in importance in both the B2B and B2C sectors. At the same time, the ageing vehicle population is creating growing demand for affordable, high-quality spare parts - especially among DIY customers. Online retailers such as AUTODOC, Kfzteile24, Oscaro, Amazon and eBay are changing market structures with lower prices and more comprehensive services. Despite longer delivery times in some cases, garages and end customers are adapting to this change. The study is based on over 40 expert opinions and around 50 industry sources and shows that companies must become more digital and respond to new customer expectations in order to remain competitive.
