From OE references to the final specification
Responding to new applications starts with a strong New Product Introduction (NPI) process. This process is supported by OE reference sets, which allow each component to be reverse-engineered to the correct specifications. Accurate reverse-engineering helps reduce development errors and creates a strong foundation for consistent quality.
Along with developing according to OE references, specifications may also vary depending on the application. The ability to adjust specifications such as salt spray tolerances, material finishes and patch coatings allows products to suit multiple market expectations. This means one part can be adapted for different requirements rather than being limited to a single use case.
Once specifications have been agreed upon, quality engineers can begin confirming the details and preparing for sampling. This important sampling step ensures that the approved specification performs as intended. When validated, production of the new component can start and the conversation moves towards packing possibilities.
Customized packing and regional support
Packing can take several forms, depending on customer and application conditions. Multiples of the same item are often chosen when supplying the brake pad components together with the brake pads. However, bulk packing can also be used where a simpler supply format is preferred. Lastly, kitting multiple items together can also simplify handling and supply by keeping related products together.
To keep up the flow when it comes to delivery, regional stockholding helps shorten supply routes for customers in nearby markets. With over 2,000 square metres of warehousing around Europe, delivery to most European countries can be as little as 5 working days. Our warehouse in Asia also helps support shorter delivery times across that region.
Fast delivery naturally needs to be supported by clear communication and reliable coordination across markets and regions.
