With almost 20 halls, bigger than ever
This year's edition spans 20 exhibition halls, with more than 2,300 exhibitors presenting their products, making it the most comprehensive Automechanika Dubai to date. The official opening by Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum underlined the importance of the event for the region, but the real impression is made on the exhibition floor itself: exhibitors from more than 60 countries demonstrate how strongly the automotive aftermarket is growing in the region. This time, companies from Albania, Barbados, Cyprus, Kazakhstan and Iraq are also exhibiting at the fair.
The spectrum of products and services ranges from classic spare parts and workshop equipment to topics such as connected vehicles, fleet management and alternative drive systems. Various country pavilions and well-frequented special areas provide structure.
Impressions from the first day of the trade fair
The ‘Grand Tour’: an activation format with a competitive character
New this year is the ‘Grand Tour’, a series of activation stations that introduce visitors to different aspects of the industry – partly informative, partly playful. At each station, there are small tasks to complete, the results of which are displayed directly on screens.
The format is well received; groups repeatedly form to wait, watch or participate themselves. It is a varied offering that breaks up the day at the trade fair without distracting too much from the actual business at hand.
E-mobility makes its presence felt — even in Dubai
Although Dubai is still considered to be strongly combustion-engine-oriented in terms of the market, the presence of electric vehicles has become more noticeable. Several Teslas and other electric models were on display at the exhibition centre, and such vehicles are also becoming more common in the cityscape.
The special areas Innovation4Mobility, CV Evolution and Fleet FWD address this change, with a particular focus on practical issues for workshops and fleet operators.
In conversations with exhibitors, it is clear that The market is growing, and Dubai is acting as a hub between the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
Automechanika Awards Dubai
An additional highlight was the presentation of the Automechanika Dubai Awards for particularly advanced, sustainable products in the aftermarket. These included ‘Innovative Product of the Year’, ‘Digital Product’ and ‘Service Excellence’. The best newcomer company is honoured with the ‘Rising Star’ award.
You still have the opportunity to visit Automechanika Dubai until 11 December.
