Today Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 kicks off

15 May 2025

The 14th edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur opened today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), welcoming participants from across the automotive industry for a three-day showcase of technologies, services, and sector trends. The fair, organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, features around 320 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions, and covers over 12,500 square meters across six exhibition halls.

The event reflects Malaysia’s growing influence in the regional automotive industry, bolstered by strategic infrastructure investments and a robust economic outlook. Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, emphasized the fair’s evolution: “Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is a well-established event in the trade fair calendar. Originally servicing the aftermarket, the show now takes on a holistic view of industry changes, making it essential for all stakeholders in the mobility & logistics value chain.”

Technology and Market Trends in Focus

One of the key exhibition areas—the Automotive Mobility Solutions Zone—highlights ongoing changes in the sector, including electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, AI integration, and smart mobility solutions. Companies such as EV Connection and Sime Darby are among those demonstrating how digital platforms and electrification are reshaping automotive services. Other thematic zones on the show floor include areas dedicated to commercial vehicles, fleet management, parts and components, diagnostics, body and paint, accessories, and car customization. Together, they offer a cross-section of current market activity and innovation across the supply chain.

Supporting Programmes and Public Engagement

In parallel with the exhibition, the fair offers a series of technical talks and panel discussions under the umbrella of the Automechanika Kuala Lumpur Academy. Topics include EV servicing, energy transition strategies, supply chain digitization, and training opportunities for automotive professionals.
A returning feature is the autoFEST@KL programme, which brings a more interactive and public-facing element to the event. Scheduled highlights include a car audio competition by EMMA Malaysia, e-sports racing activities, and a curated display of classic and Japanese domestic market (JDM) cars. The fair will also host a live music evening on 16 May.

International Reach and Local Relevance

Pre-registration data indicates participation from visitors in over 45 countries, with strong interest from Southeast Asia, East Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Malaysia’s role as a regional automotive hub remains central to the fair’s appeal, particularly as the country continues to invest in EV infrastructure and automotive R&D. Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2025 runs until 17 May and is expected to attract a broad cross-section of stakeholders from manufacturing, services, and policy sectors.
