Focus on Cybersecurity: CLEPA Conference opens in Brussels

3 Apr 2025

The 16th edition of the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference kicked off yesterday evening in Brussels, setting the stage for crucial conversations about the future of the automotive industry. As the sector undergoes a profound transformation—driven by electromobility, connectivity, and advanced assistance systems—cybersecurity has emerged as a critical new priority.

Networking at CLEPA

With new EU regulations mandating approved cybersecurity management systems in all vehicles sold from July 2024 onward, the aftermarket landscape is facing unprecedented change. This year’s conference gathers industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to address how the sector can adapt and thrive.

Yesterday’s opening featured a keynote by Kerstin Jorna, Director-General at DG GROW, followed by dynamic start-up pitches and a lively networking dinner.

Today’s programme dives into the core themes shaping the industry, from legislative shifts and market trends to the integration of AI, data security, and evolving business models. With panels, keynotes, and in-depth discussions, participants are exploring how to balance secure vehicle data with fair access to diagnostics, ensure affordable mobility, and support a competitive, innovation-driven aftermarket.

As always, the CLEPA Aftermarket Conference continues to be not only a platform for insight but also a hub for connection—fostering collaboration at the crossroads of regulation, technology, and opportunity.

“Sensigo adds an intelligent AI layer to workshop processes – empowering every workshop employee to work faster, smarter, and more efficiently.”

Manfred Wiedemann

“Regulation like the Data Act is essential – but its true value lies in how it's turned into sustainable business models. In the automotive aftermarket, success will be measured by our willingness to invest in turning data into real value.”

Frank Schlehuber

“Our own Mahle ecosystem is ready to be implemented in a bigger ecosystem – for sure it will be an ecosystem together with OEs – to reach a maximum of service quality and make it less complex for the technicians.”

Matthias Walther
