Global Automotive Outlook 2025 – Frost & Sullivan

28 Jul 2025

The global automotive industry is showing signs of recovery and transformation, according to Frost & Sullivan’s latest market analysis.

In 2024, global light vehicle sales grew by 1.1%, driven by improved supply chains, increasing demand in emerging markets, and the continued rise of electric vehicles—including a 55% surge in plug-in hybrid sales.

Asia-Pacific remains a key growth engine, with China and India at the forefront. Notably, BYD emerged as the only top-five automaker to record sales growth, up by an impressive 43%. Strategic collaborations between major OEMs—such as BMW & Toyota and Volkswagen & Xpeng—are accelerating the shift toward new energy vehicles.

In 2025, the outlook remains optimistic, with electrification and innovation shaping the road ahead.
